HMR Supplies receives award at IASM

HMR Supplies was awarded Best Time Saving Device award at the International Association of Structural Movers Association annual conference in Orlando, FL March 25, 2017. IASM is a “not for profit” trade association for the structural moving industry.

The award was given for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Stage project, which created one of the largest mobile stages in North America. HMR Supplies was challenged to add mobility to a large stage and features six Holland knuckle dollies with remote steering capability.

In 2016, HMR Supplies was contracted to design a system that could move a large stage that could be repeatedly moved 200 yards back and forth to the performance area in the arena. The stage measures 50 by 80 feet and weighs 200,000 pounds. The Cheyenne Frontier Days team needed to move the stage into position between shows. With an original 90-minute time requirement to move the stage into place, HMR Supplies designed a system using custom Holland dollies that could be moved in 20 minutes.

This project has also been awarded the Most Innovative Move Award at the Midstates Housemoving Conference in March 2017 and has been featured in an article in the American Crane & Transport magazine, March 2017 edition. The article, "Staging Success",  highlights the building of the Cheyenne Frontier stage in Wyoming. Read the article here :
